Lotte Kopecky. Wow.
A great race, still can’t believe there have been so few womens ‘Hell of the North’ races but at least that wrong has been righted belatedly. My heart was hoping that one of the Bäckstedt sisters could magic up something on the 20th anniversary of their dad’s famous wins in 2004 (props Magnus Bäckstedt).
It was cagey final 20km, and coming in to the famous velodrome she looked boxed in at the back. Let’s face it, she is one of the best track cyclists and also the current world champ and once she opened up her sprint. Wow!
